Here are some helpful resources to guide you in using our online platforms and classroom tools at home.

IXL
FOR: K-8th grade students

HOW IT'S USED AT GCA:
  • Students can practice skills being currently taught in our K-5th grade classrooms.
  • Teacher will often assign skills that they want students to work on.
  • These skills are optional and will not be graded.
  • Grades K-2: ELA & Math Skills
  • Grades 3-5: ELA, Math & Science Skills
  • Grades 6-8: Math Skills

HOW TO ACCESS IT:
Your child's login information was sent home in their blue Communication Folders at the beginning of the year.  Click the link below to view a video tutorial on how to log in and use IXL.
GOOGLE CLASSROOM
FOR: 3rd-12th grade students

HOW IT'S USED AT GCA:  
  • 3rd-5th Grade: Teachers will post newsletters and other announcements in their Google Classroom. You will receive an email with a copy of the announcement. Students do not submit any work through Google Classroom in 3rd-5th grade. Google Classroom will send you an email notification for any new announcements. 
 
  • 6th-12th Grade: Teachers post assignments for students to complete. Students can also submit their assignments through Google Classroom (if directed to do so by the teacher). Parents can receive email summaries of their child's assignment progress each week.

​HOW TO ACCESS IT:
  • 3rd-5th Grade Parents: Your child's teacher will send you a link to join their Google Classroom. Follow the prompts to join their class. 
     
  • 6th-12th Grade Parents: Students will be enrolled in their own Google Classroom classes through their GCA issued email address. Parents can view Google Classroom content primarily by receiving email summaries, which include missing and upcoming work, or by logging in with their student's account. Parents cannot sign in directly with their own personal email to view the full classroom interface.

After School Help (BJU)
​​FOR: Grades 1-12 

HOW IT'S USED AT GCA:
  • Provides extra practice, speed drills, and videos for students that directly corresponds with the concepts and chapter number of our textbooks.
  • A great resource to use at home if your child is struggling with a concept in math, science, Spanish, or language arts.

HOW TO ACCESS IT:
1. Click the link below to go to After School Help.
2. Choose the subject your child is working on.
3. Choose the concept your child needs extra help with. Chapter numbers are listed to make finding the concept easier (tip: the workbook pages have the chapter numbers in the bottom corner).​

HOW IT'S USED AT GCA:
  • View student grades
  • Pay tuition and school fees
  • Re-enroll students each spring
  • Access important documents (supply lists, handbook, etc)

HOW TO ACCESS IT:
1. Click the log-in link below.

3. Enter your username and password

Remind App
​FOR: JK-5th grade families

HOW IT'S USED AT GCA:
  • Easily communicate with your child's teacher throughout the day.
  • This app works like a text message, which allows you to chat back and forth with our teachers. The app will also text a copy of the message to you. You can text back-and-forth through your normal texting app or respond through the Remind app chat feature.

HOW TO ACCESS IT:
Your child's teacher will send you a link to join their class group on Remind. Follow the prompts to download the app on your phone or ipad and join their class. Need help? Check out our how-to video below:
Online Textbooks  (BJU Press Trove)
​FOR: 9th-12th grade students

HOW IT'S USED AT GCA:
  • This site allows students to view their school textbooks at home, in the form of e-textbooks. 

HOW TO ACCESS IT:
  • During enrollment, families can choose to pay for access to e-textbooks, in addition to the paper textbooks.
  • Log in using the link below and this information:
                     Username: your full GCA email address 
                     Password: same as your GCA computer password

If you do not see the textbook for a class you are taking or have trouble accessing your e-texts, please come see Mrs. Dorer ([email protected]) so that she can assist you. If you had e-text in previous years, those books may still appear in your account.
Team Reach
​​FOR: Middle & High School Athletic Teams

HOW IT'S USED AT GCA:
  • View your student athlete's practice and game schedule
  • Communicate through the chat feature with your child's coach

HOW TO ACCESS IT:
1. Download the Team Reach app to your phone or tablet.
2. Your child's coach will set up a team group and send you a code that will allow you to join that group.​
